The short version

Veil works entirely on your device. Your screenshots, the private details it finds in them, your signatures and your watermarks never leave your iPhone. There is no account, no server of ours, and no analytics. We cannot see your screenshots, because they are never sent anywhere.

The counter on the Home screen says 0 bytes uploaded. That is not a slogan, it is a description of what the app does.

Who we are

Veil is made by Aptnotion. Questions about privacy: support@aptnotion.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store or transmit any personal data.

Veil has no user accounts, no login, no newsletter, no advertising, no tracking, no analytics SDK and no third-party SDKs of any kind. We do not use cookies or identifiers for advertisers, and we do not build profiles of anybody.

In App Store terms, our privacy label is Data Not Collected.

What stays on your device

Everything the app works with is stored only on your device, inside Veil's own storage area:

What Why it is there
Screenshots, photos and PDFs you open in Veil So an edit can be reopened and changed later
The edits themselves — masks, labels, stamps, filters, watermarks So your work is where you left it
Signatures you draw or import So you can reuse them
Watermarks you save So you can reuse them
Your settings — what to hide, mask style, share format So the app behaves the way you set it
A count of how many items you have hidden this month Shown on the Home screen; a number, not a history

This data is removed when you delete the projects inside the app, and all of it is removed when you delete the app.

If you have iCloud Backup or device backups switched on, this data may be included in your own backup, under your Apple Account. We have no access to it.
